From WRIL
On Monday February 18, 2019 Pineville Officer Michael Smith responded to an accident with possible injuries on Highway 25E near the Dialysis Center.
Upon arrival, Officer Smith made contact with 30 year old Terry R. Baker II who was in the driver’s seat with the vehicle still running. He stated he wrecked at the Marathon station and then the Dialysis Center. Baker had two small children in the vehicle.
Officer Smith states in his citation that upon speaking with Baker he had slurred speech and glossy eyes. When Baker exited the vehicle Smith states he had to catch him so he wouldn’t fall. Baker also admitted to Officer Smith that he had been drinking something called ”Lil Wayne” which has Codeine in it. Standard field sobriety tests were unable to be administered due to fear of Baker falling over, but Smith states that he exhibited behavior consistent with being intoxicated.
Terry Baker II was arrested and lodged in the Bell County Detention Center charged with two counts of wanton endangerment, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs aggravated circumstances, operating on a suspended driver’s license, failure to maintain insurance, and leaving the scene of an accident.
He is being held without bond.
The children’s mother came and picked up the children.
