Two Harlan County men federally indicted on drug charges

From Appalachian Narcotics Investigations -

A drug investigation in Harlan County by Appalachia Narcotics Investigations and the DEA has resulted in two individuals being indicted on federal drug charges. Indicted were 40-year-old Jason Peace of Gulston, Ky. and 35-year-old Oney Wayne Brown of Cawood, Ky. were indicted by a federal grand jury on March 25, 2021 on charges of Conspiracy to Distribute 50 Grams or More of a Methamphetamine Mixture and Distribution of 50 Grams or More of a Methamphetamine Mixture.


Troopers Aaron Caldwell and Justin Pierson of Post 10 responded to a trespassing complaint in the Mary Alice community of Harlan County where they located and arrested Mr. Peace. Peace is facing several state charges as well, including Trafficking in a Controlled Substance. Mr. Brown was already in federal custody.


Appalachia Narcotics Investigations is a multi-agency narcotics task force consisting of detectives from the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office, Bell County Sheriff’s Office, Pineville Police Department and Kentucky State Police.
