From Knox County Ky Sheriff's Department -
At approximately 5:41pm Tuesday March 2, 2021 Knox County Deputies received a call about an argument between two men at a residence on Railroad Street in Gray.
Once on scene Deputies Elijah Broughton, Scotty Wilson, and Darian Abner located the victim - Roger Hensley - standing on the front porch of the home with severe injuries to his head, face, nose, and skull. Hensley was transported via Knox County EMS to St. Joseph Hospital for medical treatment.
The other male, identified as 25 year old Cody Allen Smith of Gray, stated the men got into an argument over Hensley’s daughter, Nikki Ann Hensley, and he assaulted Hensley with his fists. Smith was arrested on scene.
Three small children were in the home at the time of the assault and social services were contacted to take care of them.
Nikki Hensley was also arrested on scene after she was advised several times to stop screaming and cursing at the deputies as they were taking Smith into custody. While being arrested she would not comply with the deputies, refused to walk, and fell to the ground kicking and digging her feet into the mud.
Both Smith and Hensley were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
Cody Allen Smith was charged with Assault – 1st degree while Nikki Ann Hensley was charged with Menacing, Disorderly Conduct -1st degree, and Resisting Arrest.
