From The Pineville Police Department -
On Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at 2:50pm, Pineville Police Chief Brandon Hollingsworth initiated a traffic stop on a 2001 Ford Taurus after it was seen not giving turn signals on two separate occasions at Long's Pic Pac.
After making contact with the driver, 58-year-old Howard Wilson of Russellville, Tennessee, and giving him the reason for the stop, Chief Hollingsworth asked for consent to search his vehicle. While he did give consent for his vehicle, Wilson did not want his person searched.
Wilson was then asked to step back inside the vehicle and K-9 Jett was deployed. The K-9 then alerted on the passenger side of the vehicle and the police chief began a search.
That search of the vehicle revealed a clear baggie with (7) seven other baggies inside containing a clear-like substance believed to be Methamphetamine, which was behind the glove box. In the center console was found a pill bottle containing (19) nineteen blue Xanax pills along with Buprenorphine. In the back seat was a back pack that held a set of digital scales. Wilson was carrying $4087.00 in cash.
Howard Wilson was arrested and lodged in the Bell County Detention Center charged with trafficking in controlled substance - 1st degree, 1st offense greater than 2 grams (Methamphetamine), possession of controlled substance - 3rd degree (drug unspecified), and failure to or improper signal.
