On Wednesday December 9, 2020 at 2:00 pm, Middlesboro Police Officer Dakota Torstrick conducted a traffic stop on a black Chevrolet Cavalier on Highway 25E near Cumberland Gap Park for speeding.
Upon contact with driver, Dustin James Hensley of Pineville, it was discovered that he had a suspended operator's license. He was cited to court for speeding, improper display, operating on suspended license, and not wearing a seat belt.
During his investigation, Officer Torstrick gained consent from 34 year old passenger Kristi Marie Hoskins of Harlan to search her purse. Found in the search was a suspected bag of Heroin.
Hoskins was taken into custody and lodged in the Bell County Detention Center charged with importing Heroin and trafficking controlled substance - 1st degree (Heroin). The importing of the drug is a class C felony.
