Teen accidentally shot in Lafollette

ACCIDENTAL SHOOTING AT WOODSON'S MALL

On Tuesday, February 11, 2020, at around 12:19 p.m. LaFollette 911 Dispatch received a call of a shooting that occurred behind Woodson's mall in LaFollette. LaFollette Police Department and First Responders arrived at the rear of Food City, located inside of Woodson's mall at 2245 Jacksboro Pike in LaFollette, Tennessee. The preliminary Investigation indicates that a 13 year old juvenile male, was sitting in the passenger side of his parents vehicle, when he took a 9mm handgun from the dashboard of vehicle and accidentally shot himself in the left hand and leg. This injury appears to be non life threatening. The victim was transported to UT medical center by ambulance for treatment. L.P.D. investigators are conferring with Campbell County District Attorney concerning this incident. The names of parties involved are being withheld pending this investigation.
