From the Bell County Ky. Sheriff's Department -
On Thursday, December 8, 2022, at 4:41pm Bell County Deputy Jody Risner was dispatched to the State Probation and Parole Office building to assist with an individual - identified as 34-year-old Terry Baker - that had escaped custody. Once on scene, Deputy Risner assisted Officers Logan and Smith in restraining and securing him in a cruiser.
The officers stated that Baker had been placed under arrest due to a warrant. As the men were leaving the office to transport Baker, he broke free from their custody and fled on foot. As Baker was fleeing the scene he was heard by the officers stating: "I will get my gun and use it on you!" A short time later he was apprehended.
While he was in the deputy's cruiser, Baker became belligerent banging his head against the window. In order to gain Baker's compliance, OC spray was deployed.
Terry Baker was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center charged with escape - 1st degree and fleeing or evading police - 2nd degree (on foot). He was also served a felony probation violation and a bench warrant.
