Monday, June 3, 2024 a Middlesboro man charged with sex offenses involving two female juveniles received his final sentencing after pleading guilty to the charges.
In June of 2022 we reported on the sexual abuse - 1st degree charges lodged against 66-year-old Don "Chuck" Treece after Middlesboro Police Lt./Detective Barry Cowan investigated sex allegations against the man. Lt. Cowan took Treece into custody after he confessed to the crimes.
On Thursday, February 9, 2023, Treece was served with 20 more counts of Sexual Abuse - 1st degree after more allegations were lodged from the female victims. The mother of the children agreed to dismissal of those additional charges so as not to subject her children to testifying in court about the incidents.
Donald Treece was sentenced by Circuit Judge Keith Nagle to (6) six years on each count of sexual abuse to be served consecutively for a total of (12) twelve years in prison with (5) years of supervised release afterward. He will also register as a sex offender.
