According to the citation, on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at approximately 4:00pm, Middlesboro Police Sgt. Jeremiah Johnson made a traffic stop on a Ford Focus for a windshield obstruction as it was cracked and difficult to see out of safely.

Upon contact with the vehicle, Sgt. Johnson recognized the passenger as 53-year-old George Fisher out on bond for several serious charges from 2019.  After checking the driver’s information and giving him a warning for the windshield, Johnson asked and consent was given to search the vehicle and the occupants.

While the driver was cleared, Fisher was found to be in possession of a bag of a rock-like substance believed to be Methamphetamine in a pants pocket and a needle/syringe in the front chest pocket of his shirt/jacket.  Also found was an additional bag of a rock-like substance and a bag of a purple and white substance, both within Fisher's reach.  He was found to still be out on bond for two serious cases in 2019.

As we previously reported, the first arrest took place on June 4, 2019, when Fisher was charged with two counts of attempted murder of his estranged wife who claimed he shot at her and another person. Neither were injured.  At the time, officers on scene collected physical evidence and statements from independent witnesses and victims that led to Fisher's arrest on Cumberland Avenue, near his business, the Middlesborough Pawn Shop.

He was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center additionally charged with violation of a KY DVO, and convicted felon in possession of a handgun.

The second case involves the Appalachia Narcotics Investigations charging Fisher with promoting gambling - 1st degree, trafficking in a controlled substance - 1st degree and engaging in organized crime – criminal syndicate.  The charges stem from a lengthy investigation by ANI where Fisher is alleged to have used legitimate business properties he owned as fronts for illegal gambling and drug trafficking.

Fisher is alleged to have knowingly profited from unlawful gambling activity by setting up and operating gambling devices. He is also alleged to have trafficked in a controlled substance by knowingly trafficking a Schedule I or II narcotic drug. Lastly, Mr. Fisher is alleged to have collaborated with three or more people to promote or engage in gambling and drug trafficking.

He had been placed on monitored home incarceration a short time afterward.

In March of 2021 Fisher was arrested at the Farmer Helton Judicial Center in Pineville after he was found to be in violation of his release conditions the charges.  He was again released on bond sometime later and has made several court appearances since being indicted.  His next pre-trial appearance in Bell Circuit Court is set for April 21, 2025.

George Fisher is currently being held in the Bell County Detention Center charged with possession of controlled substance – 1st degree, 1st offense – (drug unspecified), possession of controlled substance – 1st degree, 1st offense – (Methamphetamine), buying/possessing drug paraphernalia, violation of conditions of release, and persistent felony offender.
