Middlesboro man arrested after emergency service personnel respond to shooting that never happened

Updated: Jul 22, 2022

From WRIL -

Jessie Davis - BCDC

On Friday, July 22, 2022, Middlesboro Police and EMS responded to a West End Road residence in reference to a person with a shot gun.

Once on scene, Officer John Kinder made contact with 42-year-old Jessie Davis who stated his mother had been shot in the stomach with a gun. He also stated that she had come to his front porch and told him this adding that she then “ran through the yard, jumped a fence, and left in the bed of a black pickup toward West End Homes.”

Officer Kinder asked Davis if he had recently used Methamphetamine and he admitted he had days prior to this incident. The officer states in his citation that there was no evidence the claim of the shooting ever took place.

Due to the Davis putting the public, and first responders at risk due to the large response of emergency personnel in the area, Officer Kinder charged Davis with falsely reporting the incident.
