A Lynch Kentucky man is in jail for injuring a woman and for rape. On Wednesday, August 26, 2020 24 year old Robert Lewis was arrested by Cumberland City Police Officer Hensley after a female victim filed charges stemming from a Saturday August 22nd incident.
The victim states in the complaint warrant that Lewis pushed her against the door causing a fracture to her wrist and repeatedly punched her in the face causing multiple fractures and lacerations.
Lewis is also charged on a complaint warrant taken out by Police Chief Cody Williamson stating from July 3, 2020 through August 22, 2020 he unlawfully committed third-degree rape by engaging in sexual intercourse with a female less than 16 years old.
Lewis was also served a failure to appear warrant for now showing up on a 2nd degree burglary charge. Jail records show that Lewis is to also serve 179 for contempt of court prior to his current charges. After serving that time in the Harlan County Detention Center, he is still being held on a combined cash bond of $30,000.
