On Monday, July 29, 2019, Claiborne County Criminal Court Judge E. Shayne Sexton sentenced Bobby Lovin of Tazewell to 64 years to be served in the custody of the Tennessee Department of Correction.
On April 17, 2019, Lovin was found guilty of Two (2) Counts of Rape of a Child by a Claiborne County jury.
This case was investigated by Detective Gary Ruszkowski with New Tazewell Police Department, the Department of Children’s Services, and Child Protective Services. The Claiborne County Children’s Center and the Children’s Center of the Cumberlands, including their facility dog Lucia, greatly assisted and were an integral part of the success of the prosecution of the case.
At trial, the State was represented by Assistant District Attorneys Graham Wilson and Courtney Stanifer.
