On Friday, December 23, 2023, Knox County Deputy Jeremiah Williamson received information that a fugitive from Jefferson County Kentucky was hiding in the mountains in the Gobblers Knob area of Knox County.
Knox County deputies traveled to the area and initiated a search in a wooded area. During the search two abandoned campers were located. The first camper was empty. The fugitive 30-year-old Joshua Taylor Bryants Store, KY., was found inside the second camper hiding behind an old detached freezer door.
Taylor was arrested on the Jefferson County Arrest Warrant and charged with Escape-2nd Degree. He had escaped detention from a facility located in Jefferson County, KY on October 20, 2023.
Taylor was also wanted on a Whitley County Bench Warrant for failure to appear on Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence, Operating Vehicle with Expired Operators License, Carless Driving and Contempt of Court charges.
Joshua Taylor was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
