On Thursday morning January 14, 2021, a short time before 10:30 am, Detective Robert Reed arrested 20-year-old Steven Owens of London at a residence off of Burnett Road for sexual offenses involving a child.
Owens was charged on a Laurel Circuit Court indictment warrant for sexual abuse – first-degree – victim under 12 years of age, four counts of sodomy – first-degree – victim under 12 years of age, and rape – first-degree – victim under the age of 12.
Steve Owens was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center and is being held on a $100,000 cash bond.
Assisting on the arrest was: Detective Taylor McDaniel, Detective Bryon Lawson, Detective James Sizemore, Maj. Chuck Johnson, Sgt. Jack Caudill, and Bailiff Daniel Reed.
