According to a citation, on Monday, June 10th, Tazewell Police Lt. Josh Fields became involved in an investigation into a theft at the Imperial Inn Hotel in Tazewell.
Lt. Fields determined that over the course of several months the manager, identified as 49-year-old Cynthia Milligan of Tazewell, was the sole employee that had access to a debit card machine.
Milligan is accused of the theft by fraudulent charges from occupants who were staying at the motel since August 6, 2023. They had been paying $350.00 weekly for their room. The total amount of money stolen from the victims was $14,133.85. Milligan admitted to the theft during an interview with Lt. Fields.
Cynthia Milligan was arrested and lodged in the Claiborne County Jail charged with theft over $10,000.
