Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that Sheriff's Detective Taylor McDaniel along with Detective Richard Dalrymple have placed additional charges on 58 year old Dana Jones age 58 of Old Whitley Rd., London on Friday morning February 5, 2021 at approximately 10:51 am following their ongoing investigation.
The new charges include: • Rape– first-degree; unlawful transaction with a minor – third-degree regarding an alleged 15-year-old female juvenile who had been given alcohol at Jones, residence off Old Whitley Road near London. • Rape– first-degree regarding the alleged rape of a 19-year-old female victim at Jones' residence off Old Whitley Road near London.
Previously, Laurel Sheriff's deputies and detectives conducted a welfare check at Jones’ residence found him with a 14-year-old female juvenile. During that investigation Sheriff's investigators learned that Jones had allegedly raped and sexually assaulted the 14-year-old female. Sheriff's investigators also located sexual material on the male Jones' cell phone.
Dana Jones was previously charged on January 31, 2021 with Rape – first-degree, sexual abuse – first-degree, and possessing/viewing matter portraying sexual performance by a minor. He is currently lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
