Knox County Sheriff Mike Smith is reporting the following Enforcement Actions:
On August 16, 2023 deputies arrested John Robinson age 56 of Cannon, KY on a Knox County Arrest Warrant for Criminal Trespassing-3rd Degree and Harassment. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On August 17, 2023 LT Sam Mullins responded to a domestic violence complaint at a residence on KY 1232 in Gray. After conducting an investigation, LT Mullins arrested Eric Hubbard age 35 of Gray, KY charging him with Assault-4th Degree. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On August 17, 2023 Deputy Jesse Smith arrested Jasmine Hampton age 27 of Corbin, KY on a Laurel County Arrest Warrant for Harassment. She was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On August 19, 2023 deputies were dispatched to a shoplifting complaint at the Dollar General Store in Girdler. After conducting an investigation, Holly Bargo age 30 of Bimble, KY was arrested and charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition/Shoplifting. She was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center
On August 20, 2023 at approximately 11:10 pm Deputy Jesse Smith responded to a complaint of a man kicking a door in and bashing a female in the face at a residence on Arkle Road in Gray. When Deputy Smith asked the victim what had happened, she started cursing him and told him to get out of her house. After telling her that she was the one who called for assistance, he left the residence. When Deputy Smith was several feet from the residence, the female came charging at him in a threatening manner. The female became combative and assaulted Deputy Smith.
Melinda Kiekovr age 44 of Gray, KY was arrested and charged with Assault-3rd
Degree/Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, Menacing and Disorderly Conduct-2nd Degree. She also stated that the incident she called Knox Dispatch numerous time to report, never happened. She was then charged with Harassing Communications and False Reporting an Incident to Law Enforcement and lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On August 23, 2023 deputies arrested Mack Wright age 74 of Corbin, KY on a Knox County Arrest Warrant for Terroristic Threatening-3rd Degree. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On August 26, 2023 LT Sam Mullins received a complaint of a father and son altercation at a residence on Westwood Drive in Flat Lick. After conducting an investigation, Lt Mullins arrested the son, Jeffery D Hammons age 24 of Flat Lick, KY charging him with Assault-4th Degree. Jeffery Hammons, who had just got out of jail earlier that day, was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On August 26, 2023 at approximately 10-25 pm deputies responded to a domestic complaint at a residence on Mills Loop in Flat Lick. The caller advised William Smith was actively fighting with his dad, who was in a wheelchair. When the deputies arrived William Smith was standing in the roadway attempting to get into a vehicle. When Deputy Jesse Smith approached William Smith, he became combative while cursing and screaming at the deputies. When Deputy Smith attempted to arrest William Smith, he continued to resist and had to be physically subdued. William Smith age 27 of Flat Lick, KY was charged with Assault-3rd Degree/Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, Menacing, Disorderly Conduct-2nd Degree, Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place and Criminal Mischeif-3rd Degree. William Smith was also wanted on a Bell County Bench Warrant for failure to pay the fines on Speeding and Failure to Wear Seat Belts charges. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On August 26, 2023 Deputy Jesse Smith arrested Dalton Hammons age 24 of Heidrick, KY on three Bell County Bench Warrants for failure to appear on Speeding, No Registration Plates or Receipt, two counts of No Insurance, two counts of Operating on Suspended or Revoked Operators License, two Counts of Failure to Register Transfer of Motor Vehicle, Improper Equipment and License to be in Possession charges. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
On August 28, 2023 deputies arrested Jonathon Patterson age 42 of Hinkle, KY on a Knox County Bench Warrant for failure to pay the fine on a Possession of Controlled Substance-2nd Degree charge. He was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
