Knox County Deputies arrest more suspects connected to a Girdler burglary

On October 22, 2024, Knox County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a burglary at a residence on KY 3438 in Girdler. As a result of their investigation, seven people have been arrested and numerous items of stolen property have been recovered, including firearms.


On October 29, 2024, a sixth person, Jacob Wagers age 32 of Woodbine, KY was charged with Receiving Stolen Property/Firearm, Receiving Stolen Property(items), Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon, Jacob Wagers had taken firearms and other items stolen in the burglary to a residence in Laurel County,


A search warrant was obtained by Laurel County Sheriff’s Office and those items were recovered along with a large quantity of drugs. Jacob Wagers was then lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.


On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, Knox County Deputy LT Sam Mullins arrested the seventh person, Jimmy Lunsford age 31 of Girdler, KY, charging him with Burglary-1st Degree and Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition/Firearm. This arrest was also a violation of his parole on Possession of Controlled Substance-1st Degree and two prior Parole Violation charges. In addition to the charges Lunsford was arrested on today, he will have to serve what time is left on these charges as well.


Jimmy Lunsford was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.


The investigation is continuing by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office
