KSP Trooper Miracle states in a citation that Sunday, April 6, 2025, just after 4:15 pm, dispatch received multiple calls in regard to 45-year-old Brandon Brooks of Harrogate acting recklessly with a firearm on Jenson Hollow Right Road in Bell County. Among those who called was a neighbor stating that Brooks had discharged the firearm in her direction.

Once on scene, KSP units were unable to locate Brooks or his girlfriend who had been with him. The girlfriend had an active EPO/DVO against Brooks, which he had violated by being in her presence. Witnesses on scene told troopers the pair had fled into the woods.

A short time later additional callers told KSP dispatch that Brooks was back in the area. Troopers made contact with Brooks' girlfriend who handed over the firearm, a .22 caliber revolver, with two spent shells in the chamber.

The girlfriend stated that Brooks was inside the residence. Troopers found him inside and while he would not give a statement, based on the recovered firearm and witness statements, Brandon Brooks was arrested. While being walked to the KSP cruiser, Brooks continued to yell threats toward the neighbors.

WRIL has acquired a live Facebook video that Brooks broadcast prior to his arrest. In the video he was seen threatening his girlfriend's family and other individuals while holding a gun to his head.

He was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center charged with wanton endangerment - 1st degree - discharge of firearm, terroristic threatening - 3rd degree, and violation of a Kentucky EPO/DVO.
