From the Harlan County Sheriff's Office -
On Friday, January 13, 2023, the Harlan County Sheriff's Office assisted Probation and Parole officers on a home visit at a residence located on Water tank Road in the Closplint community.
Upon arrival, officers observed a female subject, later identified as 24-year-old Ashley Cobb, throw a bag out the back door that is believed to be Methamphetamine. As entry was made into the residence, several subjects were quickly detained throughout the home. A large bag with a crystal-like substance believed to be Methamphetamine was found in the sink of the kitchen as well as a crystal-like residue in the tub of the sink.
It is alleged that 57-year-old Linda Taylor of Evarts was attempting to destroy evidence as entry was made into the residence. Several bags of suspected Methamphetamine and Heroin were found in the residence.
Linda Taylor was arrested and charged with trafficking in controlled substance - 1st degree, 1st offense -greater than 2 grams (Methamphetamine), tampering with physical evidence, and buying/possessing drug paraphernalia.
48-year-old RC Henry of Evarts was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance - 1st degree, 2nd offense (Methamphetamine) and buying/possessing drug paraphernalia.
Ashley Cobb was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance - 1st degree (Methamphetamine) and tampering with physical evidence.
Also in the home was 49-year-old Amy Gross of Evarts who was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance - 1st degree (Methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance - 1st degree (Heroin), and possession of a controlled substance - 2nd degree.
All four individuals were lodged in the Harlan county Detention Center.
Probation and Parole officers Zach Goins, Jonathan Adams and Salena Painter were assisted by Sheriff Chris Brewer, Lieutenant John Teagle, and deputies CJ Reed, Austin Reynolds, Cody Bargo and Chris Hickey.
