As we previously reported there was a shooting in the Benham community of Harlan County a short time prior to 1:00pm on Saturday, January 18, 2025.
Kentucky State Police responded to the Hemlock Street address in Benham and determined that a father and son were involved in a domestic dispute which led to an apparent murder-suicide.
KSP Trooper Shane Jacobs confirm that the two individuals were found deceased at the scene.
After their investigation KSP states that the fight occurred between 37-year-old Charles Adam Allison, of Cumberland, and his father, 63-year-old Charles Timothy Allison of Benham.
The investigation determined that Charles Timothy Allison was found deceased outside his residence from multiple gunshot wounds and his son Charles was located inside the residence with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot.
Harlan County Coroner John Derrick Noe was requested to the scene and pronounced both men deceased. He states in a release that he has sent their bodies to the Stet Medical Examiner's Officer in Frankfort for autopsies.
KSP is continuing the investigation and was assisted by the Harlan County Coroner's Office, Benham Police, Cumberland Police, and Lifeguard Ambulance Service.
