From The Harlan County Sheriff's Department -
On June 4th around 2:00am, Deputies were conducting surveillance near Morgan Drive when Deputy CJ Reed conducted a traffic stop for minor traffic violations. Through investigation a large quantity of suspected methamphetamine was located along with suspected "grey death" heroin, US Currency and drug paraphernalia associated with drug trafficking.
After further investigation and surveillance, 2 search warrants were executed on 2 separate residences at the same time on Morgan Drive.
At one residence, suspected "grey death" heroin was recovered along with a large quantity of pills, US Currency, a drug trafficking ledger and drug paraphernalia associated with drug trafficking. At the other residence a small amount of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found.
James Stephenson was arrested by Deputy CJ Reed and charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree 2nd Offense Methamphetamine, Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree 2nd Offense Heroin, Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree 2nd Offense Drug Unspecified, Trafficking in a Simulated Controlled Substance, Drug Paraphernalia Buy/Possess and traffic violations.
Clarence Cox was arrested by Deputy CJ Reed and charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree Heroin, Trafficking in Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, and Drug Paraphernalia Buy/Possess.
Charles Sizemore was arrested by Sergeant Geary Ferguson and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Drug Paraphernalia Buy/Possess and served with a Harlan Circuit Court Indictment for Strangulation 1st Degree and Assault 4th Degree.
This case remains under investigation by Deputy CJ Reed. Deputy Reed was assisted by Sheriff Chris Brewer, Captain Charles Bailey, Sergeant Geary Ferguson, Deputies Josh Lewis, Cody Bargo Chris Hickey and Loyall Police Department Officers Justin Luttrell and Ben Pace.
