Knox County Sheriff deputies Sam Mullins and Bobby Jones along with Sheriff Mike Smith located and arrested a local man sought after for stealing items from area homes. Dozens of items from local homes were located and recovered in Stinking Creek today, resulting in the arrest of 40 year old Christopher Stoots of Barbourville.
Deputies from the Knox Sheriff's Department responded to complaints of stolen porch furniture and decor this past week. One such example was an entire set consisting of ten chairs, tables and accessories from the Stinking Creek/Flat Lick community.

Based on investigative information Sheriff Smith and deputies located and recovered the items at a location used by Stoots to store them. Stoots was subsequently arrested and lodged in the Knox County Jail charged with theft by unlawful taking over $500.00, resisting arrest, unlawful transaction with a minor, assault - 4th degree domestic violence, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
The items were returned to the owners.
