Anonymous tip leads to large Meth bust charging man said to be selling at Middlesboro Pilot

Friday evening November 20, 2020 at 7:00pm, Middlesboro Police Officer Nick Capps made a traffic stop on a black 2003 Chevrolet truck at Pilot on Highway 25E.


This was after receiving an anonymous tip that 27 year old Christopher Earl was selling suspected Methamphetamine at the gas station.


Upon his arrival, Officer Capps observed the black truck described from the tip pull into the back of the business with Christopher Earl driving. The officer then approached Earl initiating a conversation with him and explained the reason for the talk. Earl was then asked for consent to search his person and his truck which he agreed to.

Officer Capps then requested K-9 Officer Harvey Johnson and Atlas to the scene to assist in locating possible narcotics. Upon K-9 Atlas conducting a free air sniff, he was placed in the bed of the truck and alerted on a garbage bag.


After dumping the bag out, Officer Capps located a baggy containing approximately 3.6 ounces of Suspected Methamphetamine. Capps also located digital scales and $2,630 in cash.


Christopher Earl was arrested and lodged in the Bell County Detention Center charged with trafficking in controlled substance – 1st degree, 1st offense (greater than 2 grams – Methamphetamine) and buying/possessing drug paraphernalia.
